ICEAL 2014

26 – 27 September 2014

Warsaw, Poland

Keynote speakers: Lars Konieczny and Arnt Lykke Jakobsen

A cooperation between the University of Warsaw and the University of Mainz.

The first International Conference on Eyetracking and Applied Linguistics “Can these eyes lie?“ is going take place at the University of Warsaw, Poland.

Eyetracking has become a powerful tool in scientific research and has finally found its way into disciplines like applied linguistics, translation studies, etc. paving the way for new insights and challenges in this field. The first International Conference on Eyetracking and Applied Linguistics (ICEAL) aims to bring together researchers who use eyetracking to empirically answer their research questions. It is intended to bridge the gaps between applied linguistics, translation studies, cognitive science and computational linguistics on the one hand and to further encourage innovative research methodologies and data triangulation on the other hand. Despite their inherent relatedness of interests, methodological exchange between these disciplines is rare. The conference serves as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and for exploiting synergy effects. Therefore, we welcome contributions from all areas of applied linguistics and related disciplines and we are interested to cover a broad range of topics.
